The University of Tennessee at Martin invites applications for a full-time, one-year, non-tenure-track Lecturer position to start August 1, 2025. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry (any specialization) by the start date and will be expected to teach lecture and laboratory courses in general chemistry. The position requires a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching and outstanding English communication skills. Preference may be given to candidates with prior teaching experience.
UT Martin is part of the University of Tennessee System and serves 6,800 undergraduate students in northwest Tennessee. The Department of Chemistry and Physics employs 13 full-time faculty members. We offer an ACS-approved Chemistry B.S. degree and a variety of Chemistry B.S. concentrations (chemical sciences, chemical physics, health sciences, and forensics) to students pursuing a major in Chemistry. The department is equipped with a wide range of modern instrumentation, including a 400 MHz NMR, GC-MS, LC-MS, FTIR, XRD, XRF, and ICP-OES, and is housed in a new 120,000-square-foot Engineering and Science building.
